Diamond Max Wheeler, 22

Fire and smoke, robots and wrestlers: Diamond Max Wheeler has worked with them all. He is one of more than 300 Mizzou students who have contributed to the production of a low-budget film series featuring Mexican cult film actor and wrestler Mil Mascaras that is being made on campus.

During shooting, Wheeler was a production assistant, or gofer, as he puts it. Now that the most recent film is in post-production, he’s working with computer science instructor Chip Gubera on special effects. “Whether it’s creating more smoke in the scene for ambiance or there’s a robot in there and he’s got sparks coming out of him,” Wheeler explains.

This experience has already led to a job for the May graduate — he begins work for an Oklahoma multimedia company in June. Back to Millennials
