MU Athletics Hall of Fame unveils six new plaques

Four outstanding student athletes, one broadcasting pioneer and a championship baseball team will be inducted into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony, which is open to the public, will be held Jan. 22, 2010, at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia. The hall’s constitution and bylaws express its purpose — “… to recognize and honor those individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the achievements and prestige of the University of Missouri in the field of athletics, and who have continued to demonstrate in their lives, the value imparted by intercollegiate athletics.” The ceremony includes a reception at 6 p.m. followed by a dinner at 7 p.m. The class will be further honored the next day at halftime during the men’s basketball game against Nebraska at Mizzou Arena. 1964 Baseball Team
Mahlon Aldridge — Broadcaster (1956–72)
Ryan Fry — Baseball (1995–98)
Jim Johnson — Football (1960–62)
Amanda Lassiter — Women’s Basketball (2001–02)
Sandi Prophete — Women’s Basketball (1986–89)
